The AL MVP

Since I was busy all day with work and 'song's CT-scan, I missed the news of the AL MVP.

Let me just say that, although I'm by no means a Yankee fan, this was a no-brainer. I don't think it's inherently wrong for a DH to win the MVP, but he's got to be vastly superior (by about .050 on average, ten homers, and 25 rbis, and that's not even taking steals or OPS into account), unless the fielder just sucks. And A-Rod is still a great fielder. Just not even close in my mind.

When Big Papi learns to play a complete game, I'll be a hell of a lot more impressed with him.

(Yes, I'm an anti-DH snob. Deal with it.)

I don't have no problem with it. Certainly, Ortiz is far more clutch, and I'd take him in a heartbeat over A-Rod in the playoffs. However, for day-to-day play during the regular season, A-Rod was clearly the best player.

As far as the DH goes, maybe the Senate can call an investigation on that next.

Here in Red Sox land, I gotta agree with you. While I haven't been impressed with A-Rod on a personal level, I gotta say he's better on a consistent level.

I don't like the DH, either, which is why I'm a NL fan.
