Last night was a good night:

Veronica Mars:

Oh, now there are questions galore:

First, let's start with Meg. For a character who hasn't appeared in months and who's lying in a coma, we sure have a lot more information about her. Her home life wasn't just repressive, it was fucked up. Were she and her older sister also abused? Were her parents possibly aware of her going to child services - and would they kill a busload of kids over it?

Another question about Meg -- was Duncan necessarily the boyfriend who Meg had over?

And finally, the scene after the first babysitting episode, with the father asking Veronica if she wanted to smoke a joint on his boat (and giving her that wonderful picture!) -- maybe it was the sort of thing he asked Meg?

Meanwhile, there's Kendall. Is she willing to sleep with Dick? She's certainly willing to whore herself out in general to keep up her lifestyle. And did she seduce Duncan?

(And was Did I hurt your feeling? not one of the best insults ever on this show?)

And there are plenty of questions now about Mayor Mahoney and his family. We've got his political goals on the table now (in theory), but what does he need to do to get there? And, assuming the son isn't being abused, is he OCD, could it be autism/Asperger's, etc?

And the ending was necessary as hell. Lamb is an asshole, and no doubt corrupt on plenty of levels, but no way would I have been willing to accept that he or his men would be willing to overlook abuse.

South Park: Oh, god, was that great. Including the closing credits, in which every name was changed to "John Smith" or "Jane Smith" to avoid lawsuits. Loved it. Normally, Matt and Trey like to poke fun at both sides of issues, even when they clearly feel one is just plain wrong, but here, they just let it rip with both barrels at the Scientologists. Loved every minute of it.

Drawn Together: And for those who don't want to see fun poked at Scientologists, we have the opportunity to see the Veggie Tales folks in action.

How the fuck did they slip the two-minute Foxxy Love masturbation scene past the censors? And fried chicken? We were in pain at this one. And the cucumber murder spree at the end was wonderful. As was giving Ling Ling a large plotline again. And that one moment with the pool table had me in stiches. I know that this show is crass and offensive, but it's so damned funny, too.

Yeah, we had a fun night of TV.
