>>why not put Scrubs into the new Thursday schedule, instead?<<
And displace the wonderment that is Joey???
I actually read (in EW?) that it's cheaper for NBC to just finish out the season of Joey because Matt LeBlanc gets his huge full-season salary whether the show is cancelled or not.
They were also stupid enough to commit to giving Joey two years...that's the only reason the AfterM*A*S*H of the 21st Century managed another season...
Take the most one dimensional of the six Friends and give him his own show...after all he played basically the same character starring in two failed Married With Children spinoffs in the early '90s...how could it have not worked?
I was happy to see House no longer up against My Name Is Earl and missed the Scrubs part. Why do they keep pitting shows with twisted humor against the king of twisted dramady? They're just hurting themselves.
I agree. We have the DVR service from our local cable monopoly, and though we only have two tuners (on each box), I would find it more than a little hard to live without, especially the last couple of months when my sleep schedule has been set on "decidedly quantum".
How does TiVo cope with encrypted digital cable, btw? If it can manage it, I might be tempted to save up for one of them lifetime subscription doohickers and stop pouring money into Ted Turner's pockets. Well, slow down a bit, anyway.
We have two Tivos and a cableco DVR. When the signal comes out your cable box, it's just video. TiVo isn't able to deal with HD output (generally) but we have digital cable, and TiVo. The difference between the functionality of the cableco DVR and a real TiVo is huge. We got the DVR to replace a dead TiVo, and decided it just wasn't worth trying to use that piece of crap as our main TV watching soloution. TiVo is launching a huge feature assault on the market. I expect a lot of those DVRs will be dinosaurs soon. They won't work with iPod. They won't work with netflix. They won't work with, umm, whichever service it is that's putting music on my TiVo. etc. etc.

Saw the preview for Four Kings, and despite the presence of Seth Green, I'm thinkin' it looks like utter crap.
