*sigh*

The hour of TV from 9-10 last night on Fox was as funny as it gets, filled with cancelled shows.

I don't think there's been a funnier use of a picture from an Oscar-winning movie than the shot of Charlize in her Oscar-winning role. Just unbelievably funny. And Ron Howard's narrator is just perfect. It's nice to get a little more Arrested Development before the axe falls, at least.

Kitchen Confidential was also damned funny. It's gotten better since I first started watching it, and unlike AD, I can't say that Fox gave it a chance. Great use of Michael Vartan.

Really enjoyed both. It feels like they are letting out all the stops now that they are cancelled so that the numbers go up and FOX programming executives get fired.

That's my dream.

Either that, or FOX creates an all-reality network where they can put those shows and have someplace show the real shows. Because moving Bones to Wednesday vs. Lost means they don't care enough for it to get killed in the ratings.

An all-reality network would be easier to avoid.

*headdesk*

Then WHY, for the love of all that is well written and interesting, do they not shift all those reality shows over there? And leave AD and KC alone?

I watched KC from the start and thought it was hilarious. Maybe because it's a snappy-comeback, New York sort of show.

(the sex-on-the-floor hair was great!)

They have a survey. I took it. Heh. Yes, I was mean but articulate.

Some of the questions included:

Rate how much you agree with the following statements:

"I like to watch people win."
"I like to watch people lose."
"It is important to me to belong to a group."

Just...no.

I think the AD narrator has gotten noticeably snarkier since the axe fell. I love it.

KC's canceled? DAMMIT.

I was just happy to see it finally pop back onto my TiVo, and loving Vartan and Cooper in that show last night.

Damn Fox.

The AD wasn't one of the strongest, but the "next time on" was solid payoff. And Kitchen was good. Give that one two seasons and it would be top-shelf. How can fox be so stupid with such good material? I asked them that, in e-mail, and they didn't feel a need to respond to me. Have you e-mailed HBO about your desire to see AD on HBO? I feel pretty free to rip fox up in e-mail, it calms and sooths me for sucking up I have to do when I e-mail HBO.
