Remember that bit in So Long and Thanks For All The Fish, where Wonko the Sane recalls how the event that sent him over the tipping point to insanity was reading the instructions on a packet of toothpicks?

That's what this news does to me.

I begin every morning with a cup of coffee and a mug of (Diet) Coke. But it never would have occurred to me to mix them.

No, no, no, that won't be the decaf version. That will be the version with cream mixed in.

Coke w/coffee sounds crazy but i'll still try it at least once since i like both and both help with my severe headaches which since my hmo docs don't believe in hydrocodones and the like is one of the reasons i use huge amounts of excedrin which has caffeine :)

And i *hate* Pepsi, way too sweet and chemical tasting.

I've tried it (perk of the job) and...

it tastes every bit like it sounds.

Small bottles, mid price, is the anticipated line. Designed to compete with both soda and bottled frap products.

The real question is... do you want your coffee sweetened with corn syrup? At any rate, I'll try this before I willingly sample Jones' Brussels Sprout soda again.

RC cola used to have one called RC Draft, which contained coffee. I'd found it in Target in MI for 8 cents a bottle with no deposit (deposit in MI is 10 cents). Needless to say I bought a case or two. The cashier warned me of the taste, and that people had been returning it.

Personally, I loved it. If this new coke product is anything like it, it'll be devisive, but good.

No, wait, it wasn't with coffee. They had roasted the cola beans, that was it. But it tasted like coffee. Still good, tho'.

I must have it. To hell with the half-calorie shit though. Make it with real Coke.

And I want it strong and heated, thanks.

It's been done before
