1. Laundry and assorted household errands.

2. Trip to Northlake area:

2.1 Red Lobster for lunch. Yeah, it's basically crap seafood (when your corporate motto is, "Fresher than Captain D's," you're not aiming very high), but those biscuits are just so damned good.

2.2 Movie Trading Company. Where they're running a buy-two-get-one-free sale. Grabbed Terminator, the two-disc Terminator 3, and the Waxwork/Waxwork 2 combo pack for $12 (the first because it's a great film, the second because I'm a completist and it was good enough, and if you have to ask about the Waxwork movies, you don't know me very well; and yes, I know just how shitty the fullscreen transfers on them are, but since the price I was paying was "free," and since there is no widescreen special edition, I'll take it).

2.3 Toys "Backwards R" Us. I showed such great restraint. Lots of good deals in the video game area, but none that I needed. I almost made it out of the store in one piece, but on the way out, there was the post-Xmas clearance, complete with the Trivial Pursuit: Book Lovers Edition for $9.97. Yes, it's mine.

2.4 Best Buy. Man, I'd forgotten how much Best Buy just out-and-out sucks. They've rearranged the store to be even less easy to navigate, but when you finally find stuff, you realize that their prices are no longer anything special, even for things that are on sale. Good selection, I'll grant, but shitty service and crappy prices. It looks as if they're shifting to the MediaPlay philosophy. And we all know how well that worked out for MediaPlay.

2.5 Northlake Mall. Hit lots of stores, including Waldenbooks (which had the same Trivial Pursuit for $20, so I win!), a calendar kiosk, EBGames, Macy's, The Disney Store, and a few others. I managed to make it through the mall without spending a cent, although there were definitely close calls.

2.6 Gamestop (in that strip mall next to the main mall). With two days left on my 10% off card, I grab the MegaMan Anniversary Collection. Because those first three games do kick so much ass. Mind you, that was after about an hour of browsing. Lots of temptations.

2.7 Smoothie King. I was parched at this point. And it'd been years since I had a smoothie. I know they're not really healthy, but they're yummy.

2.8 Office Depot. Nothing exciting, but it was there.

2.9 Bus ride home. Just because I need a ninth item.

3. Napped in front of the Tivo with cats. Napped hard. Woke up about twenty minutes ago. Pizza has been ordered. I'm off to watch a French Horror movie.

That Trivial Pursuit Book Lovers Edition is pretty tough. I'm an English major and my girlfriend at the time was pretty well read, and the game stumped us many a time. Still, it's a great game. You play it once and your "now I must read this book immediately" list triples in size.

Best Buy's focus is on the electronics now. The other stuff gets you in the store.

"Fresher than Captain D's,"

The odd thing is, despite working in a seafood restaurant, Captain D's is the only seafood I'll eat.

Of course, it's so breaded and deep fried, it barely counts as seafood, so that may be why I like it.

Re:2.2

I should be kept away from Movie Trading Company. By a court order.

I went in during their half-off blowout and came out three hours later with 17 movies.

SEVENTEEN.

And that was after showing restraint. I had like 40 movies picked out of the coverless section alone and had to put most back...

If its got fruit in it, it automatically qualifies as "healthy". ;)

2.1 Check your grocer's freezer section for Pillsbury frozen biscuits. They taste just good and the seafood selection is better.

2.4 I used to work for MP back when they had a store in butthead. Back when ALL of their books were discounted EVERY DAY. Ironically, I heard that BB bought MP.

3 Aren't all French movies horrible?
