Thursday stuff
Feb. 23rd, 2006 11:28 am1. John Scalzi (whose latest novel is currently "out for delivery;" Dammit, UPS, I want to be able to track what fucking street corner my order is on!) comments on the Irving situation in his blog. Needless to say, I agree with him.
2. #1, above, combines two topics I posted on yesterday. Damn, I'm efficient!
3. New TV last night consisted of Drawn Together, and nothing else (we watched a couple of CSI reruns otherwise). Not the greatest ep this season (I adore Captain Hero, but like Clara before him, he's gotten way too many storylines in a row -- we need a Ling Ling plotline!), but some good stuff. Love the ongoing birds and ape-man gags, and the "original season's cast" gag was a blast. Alex Borstein's cameo was priceless.
4. OMG! Isiah Thomas made a questionable trade! Who knew that would happen? I'm so glad I no longer have any emotional investment in the NBA. Now I can be detached and snark at the Knicks instead.
5. Good news: Season One of Dr. Katz hits DVD this May. Bad news? It's six episodes. Feh.
6. Really good news: More Grendel stuff is coming, including an Art of Grendel book! Woohoo!
7. Jury Duty update: I called, spoke to a nice lady, and am now serving the week before.
8. KOL update: Hit level nine, got me all my Leaflet goodies, took care of the Baron, and am now just leveling up to 10. My two zaps of uncommon Tiny Plastics have, alas, only given me duplicates of other uncommon Tiny Plastics (no Hermit, which is the one I need, or extra meatcars, which would make nice mall store fodder).

Date: 2006-02-24 01:51 am (UTC)I have been driven, as a consequence, to watching curling and 5-pin bowling on the sports network. A man's gotta watch something, damn it!
