iBooks (the publisher, not the computer line) has declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy. :-( I don't know any of the behind-the-scenes stuff, but as a reader, I'll miss this company.

[livejournal.com profile] nihilistic_kid and [livejournal.com profile] deep_bluze -- any word on whether the Horror: Best of 2005 made it to distributors, or is it doa?

It was a Wildside/ibooks co-pub, so will be going ahead as a Wildside title, as ibooks had materially breached the contract before bankruptcy was declared, sending all rights to Wildside.

i'm pretty sure i saw sean mention that it was going to be a prime title, now, on the shocklines board.

My company distributes those books...

With Byron Preiss' death, the companies weren't going to survive. They pretty much ran on his will.

The writing was on the wall a few months ago.

I know pretty much all the behind-the-scenes stuff, and -- well, this wasn't really a surprise. As [livejournal.com profile] popfiend said, the company was Byron, and with Byron dead, the company was not long for the world.
