What the hell, Facebook?
Jan. 30th, 2013 07:33 amSo I got Graph Search enabled on my Facebook account, which is cool enough, although moving the notification flag from the top left to the top right is a bit annoying.
And naturally, after trying a few local searches, I started to try some of the global ones (inspired by this tumblr, of course).
And "Catholics who like abortion" was an obvious search after the Durex one on that page.
Facebook classifies abortion as a disease.
Wow.
Not even sure how to respond to that.
I suspect this is less a matter of agenda-setting on FB's part as it is a factor of their obsessive need to categorize everything that people can "like,*" but it's still baffling. I did a search for "people who like AIDS," for example, and AIDS is listed as an "interest," not a "disease." I'd love to know how exactly they ended up where they did.
