KOL Updates

I've been behind on LJ thanks to Elayna's spring break, but for those wondering where things stand in KOL:

I've hit level 14 on this run (level 15 is my goal, to grab the skill there). I also gave in and bought the Item of the Month (at the mall -- I didn't trade my Mr. A for it). It's silly, but so much fun. If nothing else, I love using the clown hammer when I beat up yetis. Needless to say, I've spent most of my post-NS time meat-farming.

I'm contemplating running some trivia in c/ games on Saturday for my birthday, as well. Haven't run any trivia yet, but it seems an opportune time. As always, I highly recommend that channel -- there's some good stuff there.

I hadn't considered what time yet (that would involve planning), but I figured I'd probably do some after midnight/rollover, and some on Saturday througout the day.

I'm having a lot of fun with KOL, but I still haven't quite gotten the hang of the different kinds of damage, etc. (just straight gaming ignorance, not KOL-specific). I'm also continually frustrated by being given quests I can't complete, and getting my ass kicked in the process. I need to spend more time wandering around and collecting stuff and building stats. (I think I'm a level 8 or 9.)

I have no idea how people end up with millions and millions of meat. I never get above 10K - I'm always spending it on trips at the Shore or clovers or skills or weapons or something.

I did finally get a house, though. :^D

And I've enjoyed watching /games thanks to you. It moves a little too fast for me, but it's really fun to lurk.

Is there anything specific I should do with the 3 hilarious things I get to summon every day? Or are they just goodies?

It's especially hard during the first run, when you don't have things built up (not to mention, Accordian Thieves are the toughest class -- they've got no direct offensive spells). I usually try the quests when I'm a level or two past the point of assignment, and just level up until then.

The three hilarious things are just that. Although at least one of them -- the peanuts -- can be used successfully in combat, from what I've heard. Personally, I enjoy attacking folks with the clown hammer, just for the sound effects.

As far as meat goes, a lot of that is time -- the folks who end up with millions have ascended multiple times, so have built up more meat. They also do things like A) farming the Icy Peak (which is yielding me 600-900 meat per turn, thanks to various items, skills, familiars, etc), B) buying things like Mr. As and selling them in the mall, C) playing the mall in general (buying low, selling high, etc), and D) luck (finding a super-rare and selling it, being here for something like the Advent holidays last year and selling the items, etc). E), of course, is games (if you've ever seen an AR run by Kamakazi Assassin, you've seen people win prizes of 100K-500K meat at a time -- that adds up.).

Being the Instant Gratification Girl that I am, I've never visited the KOL chat because I have no idea how to use it. I clicked on chat, couldn't figure out how to choose a specific channel, and gave up.
