The latest asshole with an agenda: Bill Postmus, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for San Bernadino County, CA, who, upon getting an angry rant from half-wit resident and half-assed mother Cynthia Jones, decided to remove a book on the history of Manga to protect the poor sixteen-year-old boy who'd seen boobies for the first time in his life. The poor kid will now have to resort to second-hand VC Andrews novels and copies of Playboy bought on his behalf by the town drunk to learn about female anatomy.

Judging from the other politicians quoted, it's possible that the entire county of San Bernadino has a collective IQ of about eighty-three.

You know, the only thing I love more than people who want to legislate safety are people who think boobs are dangerous. That's brilliant.

Of course, some boobs are dangerous, but for whatever reason, parents keep voting for 'em. Go figure.

They don't have any educational value. -Apple Valley Councilman Rick Roelle

I disagree! But, ignoring the exciting Sex Ed discussion, if we removed every book with no educational value and graphic naughty bits from the library, the entire romance novel section would have to go.

(and just in case there was any possible confusion)
Supervisor Postmus is Chairman of the San Bernardino County Republican Party.

A possible note of superb irony here because if i recall
correctly, San Bernadino County, CA is pretty much *the*
home of most of the porn industry ;)

No, it isn't. It's LA County; most of the work is done in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Hollywood. San Bernardino County is east of LA, en route to Las Vegas.

Oh, Apologies, I'd always thought it was the San Bernadino instead of the San Fernando Valley.
From one or two stories on those tv news shows.

Possibly i got them mixed up because of the famous
John Fahey (the guitar player) album that came out
so long ago with San Bernadino in the title and not
being on the west coast confused the two areas in my head.

No problem. I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to tell the difference between any two similarly named areas anywhere in the country unless they lived there.

We're talking about San Bernardinon County, not Los Angeles County; that county is picayune...

I really hate to point out the obvious but...

most of the sixteen-year-old boys in San Bernadino Co. have seen boobies. Multiple sets, I'm guessing, since most of them have probably had more sex than their political leaders.

(I used this icon since it fits in with yours.)

Upon hearing of the removal of the book, Jones said she could not believe the news.

"That's awesome!" Jones said. "I think Mr. Postmus is showing with his actions that he really cares about his community and the children."

I like how that quote seems like it was said sarcastically.
