Holy shit, did that show kick ass!

Other than "French Perfume" and "Little Beggarman," I think they hit every song I could have hoped for, and then some. Just an amazing show. As others have already reported, no opening act, just two great sets of GBS material, starting with "Captain Kidd," and finishing two-and-a-half hours (and one intermission) later with "Old Black Rum."

And they've managed to make "Mari-Mac" even faster since last time. :-)

French Perfume is one of my least liked GBS songs. It's weird how subjective things are. :) (I think the one that ties with French Perfume is "Margarita," though "Sally Ann" is down there.) (And I think they spell Margarita differently, but I can't remember how.)

Anyway: They did most of my favorites, though, and of the three GBS shows I've seen, this tour's was definitely the greatest. Which "horse through the ice" song did they do? Alan said they were doing only one per show. We got "Charlie Horse." :)

Right, that album has a few of my favorite songs, but a few of my least favorite. But the latest one makes up for it. Maybe it would have been a good double, with traditional on one disc and the newer stuff on the other, but then we'd have gotten only one tour for it. ;)

Alan Doyle's pregnant. His kid's due this summer. I'm terrified that'll mean he quits to stay home with the family.
