1. The Outdoor Life Network, after weeks of workshopping to try to find a worse name, came up with one: Versus. Now, if this network were to be dedicated to, say, immortal Japanese Warriors fighting each other over the fate of the world, I'd be there in a heartbeat. But no, Versus, as a TV network, will still show hunting, fishing, and hockey. In other words, outdoor life, and hockey. For ten bucks as a consultant, I could have told them to change their name to "The Oudoor Life and Hockey Network."

2. The moron who wrote this week's sucktastic episode of Gilmore Girls, full of bad characterization, contrived circumstances, inconsistencies, etc (other than, to be fair, Paris, who was near-perfect)? He's taking over as showrunner from the Palladinos. Now, it's hard to deny that the Palladinos have lost much of their edge this year (last week's DP-penned episode hinged on a ludicrous contrivance or seven), but this isn't the guy to save it. In fact, judging from this article, I can think of few less-qualified people.

Grrr.

Work will keep me busy for the rest of the day, thus killing any chance of the longer, more thoughtful posts I wanted to make actually seeing the light of day.

what are the odds that someone on the inside promoted this asshat, instead of the palladinos?

Well crap. Good to see that if/when Gilmore Girls starts on the CB its going to be Wells taking over The West Wing all over again. Except hopefully without the "EVENT OF THE YEAR" every week...

Have they made announcements about what's on the CW schedule yet? Is everyone just assuming Gilmore Girls will make it because it's popular?

Whoa.

I can't wait to hear what [livejournal.com profile] forestcats has to say about that article; I forwarded it to her. Weird, but very, very Hollywood...

I still can't believe the Palladinos are leaving. It makes me sad for next year, but I knew it was over as soon as April popped up. Adding a child is always the death knell of a series.

Damn. I -like- watching OLN, but our current cable package (see: poor student) doesn't include it.

Yeah, I read Hercules the Strong's lament about this on Ain't It Cool News: that it would be the same actors on the same sets on a show with the same name, but it wouldn't be the same.

But if it eases your pain, you can experience vicariously the moment I started paying happy attention to Lauren Graham.

Or pop in Bad Santa. Your call.
