That's sad. Gregg was a good field umpire up to the point where his weight really started getting in the way. Pitchers were big fans of his due to that wide strike zone, though.
It was good to read in the article that he had gotten a partial grip on the weight problem in the last few years...I wonder if that is what gave him the last few years...
