Tuesday stuff
Jul. 11th, 2006 10:11 am1. KOL -- I'm on day two of my first no-path run in a long time, as a Seal Clubber. Between the access to food and booze and the stat day today, I'm currently at level nine. There's an outside shot -- given the stat day -- of my hitting level eleven tomorrow, but I'd have to do some serious work on my secondary stats to be able to make it to the tower.
2. Reading -- having finished Wilson's The Chronoliths, I've moved on to his Blind Lake. Yeah, when jump into reading an author, I often do so whole hog.
3. For the first time ever, I actually watched the home run derby last night. I was just hoping for Wright to get at least one homer; I was definitely happy with the performance he turned in (and with the NL East showing overall). Nice to see both Wright and Cabrera show that righties weren't up the creek in the contest. Also nice to see folks like Wright, Ortiz, and Howard (who was just amazing) show what it's like to watch genuinely good sports play and have fun. I'll take any of them over Bonds any day of the week.
4. That said, even though "it counts," I've got very little interest in the All-Star game. It's broken on so many levels, it's just impossible for me to get into.
5. Today is busy, thus one short post, and likely no chance to post again or read LJ until late this afternoon.

Date: 2006-07-11 03:26 pm (UTC)The fact that I still care about baseball at all is a testament to the game itself, and not the people in charge. (Or, in some cases, the players...)
