Are you saying that from the show producer's POV or Oni's? Because I agree about the producers (hey, licensing rights mean money). But for Oni, I see this working about as well as the Married. . . With Children comic did, with the same lack of sitcom timing and acting taking the comic from a first-month bestseller to an out-in-four series.

"My Name Is Earl" = Jason Lee = various characters in Kevin Smith films = Kevin Smith = very late but profitable comic books = profitable comics!

I can very easily picture Jason Lee as a comic book character. He has enough of a over-dramatic touch for that to work. (I've wanted to see him in one since Kevin Smith pondered doing that comic called Mallrats 2: Die Hard in a Mall, which probably will never happen but which amuses me.)

Well, those are probably easier, seeing as comedy is what's hard to translate to the printed page, and neither of those shows has had a funny moment in, um, ever.
