Five fun links
Jul. 31st, 2006 12:54 pm1. I will Survive (Jesus version) (ganked from
tnh/Making Light).
2. A remix/mashup of Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" and the Good Eats theme (with some extra sound clips). For those who simply want to download the MP3 file, right-click on this link (ganked from a comment
allroads made in my earlier post).
3. Amazon now does concordances and readability tests for books. So we can now find out that The Da Vinci Code is (depending on which test is used) in the bottom fifth to bottom third of books in terms of grade-level readability. The "fun stats" portion is my favorite, informing us how many words per dollar and words per ounce we get from a novel (the latter being important, I suppose, if you're packing books for a trip).
4. Via
popfiend comes the wrongest shower concept ever: Shower breasts (images NSFW). The idea? Squeezable breasts that you hand in the shower and squeeze to release soap and shampoo.
5. The website for Garth Marenghi's Darkplace at the Sci-Fi Channel is offering the first episode for free online. Watch it -- it's goofy fun.

Date: 2006-07-31 05:44 pm (UTC)On the Amazon stats, fun to notice that Holy Blood, Holy Grail outranks Da Vinci Code in all categories but words per dollar and words per ounce. (Well, and it tends to have longer sentences, so the sentence count is smaller while the word count is higher.)
