I love Heath Ledger. I love him to itty-bitty bits.

That said, what in God's name are they thinking?

Well they have both been in gay movies and this will leave the door open for a Robin.

But I like it because it's not a comedian or a star known for playing crazy - so he could actually find some depth in the character that you wouldn't get with a Jack Nicholson or a Robin Williams (who would show up and do their bits - as we've seen Kevin Spacey do in Stupidman Returns)

I've only seen Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale and Brokeback Mountain. So, as the Joker? I'm just not seeing it, unless there's going to be jousting and anal rape in the new movie. And if that's the case, they totally should've gotten Christopher Walken or John Malkovich.

Nah. If they got someone that's known for playing Crazy then they would have just got an actor that was coasting because he figures he's in a comic book movie and he can just do his old routine.

Jack Nicholson was Jack Nicholson in white make-up.
Kevin Spacey was awful.

Heath has potential.

In the last few years, I have become so much more open to such casting decisions, but I have to admit, I'm seriously not seeing this one.

L o L,
does not think Ledger = Nicholson

Nicholson does NOT = Joker

Nicholson = Nicholson

Which is how the Burton Batman series degenerated into shit.

I saw an interview once where Mark Hamill said how he got to be the voice in BtaS. Apparently everyone else that came in was doing Nicholson impressions, and the casting director was sick of it.

I've read your comments about Nicholson's performance. I've chosen not to debate the matter with you.

L o L,

After being horribly wrong on Tom Cruise playing Lestat, I vowed never again to give a knee-jerk condemnation to a casting decision. Time to play "wait'n'see"

Joker: This is a one-shot thing we got goin' on here.
Batman: It's nobody's business but ours.
Joker: You know I ain't queer.
Batman: Me neither.
Joker: After that one movie with the nipples on your suit I'm not so sure.
