Dude! It's barely mid-August! Do they really start that early now???

Actually, state of Michigan set a law stating that school couldn't start before Labour Day. :)

She will, of course, do fantastic!

Because, as my icon says, she's made of awesome!

Good luck to her. More to her stressed-out parents! *grin*

I hope it's a great day...

I will be making the exact same panic-stricken post in three weeks.

Be brave, my friend.

I hope you're not so old that you don't remember your first day of middle school.

*desperately tries to dredge up the memories of his first day of seventh grade so as not to feel way too old*

*is so far failing*

*can at least sort of remember his first day of eighth grade, so that's a start*

OK, I'm too not-awake for this! I remember plenty of other things from middle school, though...

*erase erase erase* *revise revise revise*

I hope you're not so old that you don't remember your first day of middle school.

Seriously, dude. Good luck. And you're probably lucky in one way, which is that Elayna sounds like the kind of kid who'll actually tell you how her school day went, and not just say she did "nothing."

You've done a lot for your young one. She'll do allright.

Me: How was school?
The Boy: Good. (Translation: A kid tripped me in the hall, I got a solo in chorus, I forgot to take my notebook to class so I haven't written down any homework today, my best friend is in the hospital, and I sat in a girl's lap.)
Me: How are you doing in math?
The Boy: Good. (Translation: Still failing.)
Me: Is your English Honors class going okay?
The Boy: Yeah, it's good. (Translation: I didn't turn in my homework again, but the teacher complimented my writing in front of the class.)
Me: And how's the wolverine pit where they throw naughty students?
The Boy: Good. (Translation: I haven't been listening to a thing you said because I'm still thinking about sitting in that girl's lap. Please go away, Parental Unit.)
