During the speech in Breaks, near the Kentucky border, Allen began by saying that he was "going to run this campaign on positive, constructive ideas" and then pointed at S.R. Sidarth in the crowd.

"This fellow here, over here with the yellow shirt, macaca, or whatever his name is. He's with my opponent. He's following us around everywhere. (emphasis mine).

Wait. Don't believe it? Think this is just another "misunderstanding" by the "liberal media?" As Warner Wolf would say, let's go to the videotape.

"Welcome to America," indeed, Mr. Allen.

The stunning thing about this is how uncomfortable he is with being followed by a guy with a camera that he felt like he needed to be an ass. What the hell, it's been a standard part of major campaigns for the last two generations to have someone record everything the opposition does.

Well, I have to agree with some of his supporters -- he doesn't seem bright enough to know non-American insults. I bet he was making a 'caca' joke, which isn't much better mind you, but at least had little to do with his race and more to do with the concept of the enemy-in-our-midst. I think he was attempting to make a 'little shit' joke about him, in context of having this lackey recording everything he was saying. Including insulting him.

Of course, this does not bode well for a campaign based on "positive, constructive ideas", does it?

(And, having been "invited to America" for exposing some of my naiveté, I don't see that as being an anti-foreigner insult, either. At least, I wouldn't have seen it as such. It's always been more of a wake-up call, a "you're now in a different world than you've known" thing, to me, and in general use.)
