A few quick things before I dive back into the pit of despair work:

KOL: Ascended today as a Disco Bandit. Things I screwed up this ascension: forgot a cottage (again), forgot to set aside sonars. *sigh*

Online comics: Today's Wondermark had me giggling. A lot.

Books: Finished (and adored) The Fourth Bear a few days back. Am now reading an ARC of Brad Meltzer's The Book of Fate, which is not even close to his best work, but it is certainly his most self-consciously Da Vinci Code-like work, right down to the short chapters (116 of them, as well as an epilogue). That's not to say it's bad -- Brad always puts together a good thriller, and this is a perfect popcorn novel. I just wish that he would aim higher.

Movies: Haven't seen Snakes on a Plane yet, but probably will this evening.

TV: Three days until the Fall Season begins, thanks to Fox's early debut of Prison Break and the premiere of Vanished.

Houseguest: We have a [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven! Yay!

Sports: The Mets didn't get swept. I'm happier than I'd be otherwise, but it was a troubling series. And David Wright needs to wake up. Soon.

Livejournal: Still not reading it. I occasionally load up my friends page, but don't assume I've seen anything you've written unless you're [livejournal.com profile] shadesong. That'll continue to be the case for at least the next two weeks.

Back to the mines for me.

What makes you think Meltzer is capable of aiming higher?
