Various movie posters and scenes drawn as if they were from medieval Russian illuminated texts.

Page takes a while to load, and a good chunk of it won't make any sense to people who can't read Russian (I'm honestly not sure what about half the movies are, but some are incredibly obvious). But it's worth it, not just for the humor, but because the art itself is damned nifty.

Neat. But unexpected target="_new" in links on my friends page is mildly irritating.

I post all my links as target="new"; when reading any page on LJ, I prefer to not have to lose my place on the original page to see links.

And I prefer not to have extra windows pop up and make my workspace messy. Although that's not as important to me as having things behave consistently is. (I'd use greasemonkey or something to disable opening new windows, but there are a couple sites I use that use popups for useful effect.)

That's what command-click (or button3) is good for; I just let Safari pile up a bunch of tabs in the background and go through them all later. The target="_new" stuff just makes my Palm browser complain.

I came pretty much to the same set of conclusions. Not sure if I remember Keanu passing gas in The Matrix, though!

I see your point (I tend to use command-click near-religiously, especially since it allows one to override the "new" option, anyway), but I also like having a back-up plan. I figured that Palm-based browsers would simply ignore tags like "target."
