The place that owns Moe's (I think) bought 'em a couple of months ago. Much as I love the Flying Biscuit, I don't have a good feeling about this. I have real trouble envisioning it as a mass-market thing.
*nod* We'd pretty much switched our breakfast allegiance to Crescent Moon a long time ago, with Java Jive and Bagel Palace as other choices.
The site doesn't mention anything about Watershed (the other Emily Saliers restaurant), but the service and food there had gone to crap (to the point where we left no tip) last time we tried lunch there.
That is sad. I too prefer the Crescent Moon. But the Biscuit was my second favorite Atlanta breakfast hangout. *sniff* I guess all good things go to the highest bidder.
So, how's it going in Massachusetts?
P.S. - any idea why Boston Legal isn't on this week? I hope and pray they are not thinking of cancelling it! You are my inside track on such things, after all. :)
*sigh* I've noticed that the quality of Moe's has markedly declined recently. I hope the same doesn't happen to the Biscuit, but I'm not optimistic. :P
"Please take a few minutes to peruse our site (http://www.ravingbrands.com/main.aspx). See if you get excited about our overall strategy of world domination - although we must warn you, the excitement can be contagious."
I remember when part of the fun of travel was experiencing NEW places and different faces... now I can't escape the same tripe I find in the glorified strip mall (excuse me, Atlantic Station) down the street. If our culture is so hell bent on standardized choices, why even bother to build the venue? Why not just make mandatory deliveries from a small catalog of food providers? This would allow me to stay at home, keeping futile exploration to a minimum.
Damn... At least there's still West Egg Cafe (http://www.westeggcafe.com/main.php?myeggy=egg")....Java Monkey and Brickstore.
oh and that quote is from the Raving Brands website... and let me just add, that I'm as excited about their plan for world domination as a kid with a graham cracker and no frakkin marshmallow!

Date: 2006-11-15 04:28 pm (UTC)Seriously, it was lovely when the first one opened in Candler Park, but I stopped going a few years ago. The wait just got to be ridiculous.
The biscuits, however, were damn delicious...
