Chad Bradford

Dammit.

Folks who didn't follow the Mets might not realize it, but Bradford was one of the most under-appreciated pieces of the puzzle for the Mets this year, and part of the reason their bullpen carried them as far as it did.

Granted, few middle relievers are worth three-year deals, but short-term, we're going to miss him. A lot.

On the plus side, his amazing performance this year makes him a Type A free agent, so the Mets will get two draft picks (not a bad thing to stock up on, given MLB's stupid rules that prevent trading draft picks).

You know what else? This means I can't entertain Kip with my preppy-white-boy-polo-club voice whenever Bradford's pitching: "I say, good man, who is that chap pitching? Why, indeed it's Chad Bradford, old sport." (Seriously. Chad Bradford is the whitest name EVER.) (I also enjoyed calling him Brad Chadford.)
