Preacher to HBO!

HBO has commissioned a pilot for Preacher!

Frankly, it's got a much better shot on cable than as a standalone movie (although I still think that James Marsden would have been well-cast).

very good sign...I'd be worried if it was SciFi or the asshats at Tribune, but HBO there's some hope there..

I'm not a huge fan of Preacher. Great concepts, great characters, nice art (though the covers are hideous 90% of the time) but for every great idea Ennis has, there are two ideas that land with a great THUD.

Does the leader of your secret religious sect have to 700 pounds and bulimic?

Don't get me started on Arseface. Great in that first arc, completely unnecessary in every other appearance.

Now a Sandman series, followed by Mike Carey's Lucifer? I'm all over that action.

They are obviously on drugs. I loved Preacher, but Hitman is a better choice for a TV series.
