(As always, see yesterday's post to start the link chain back to other deals)

(Amazon's also posted a page listing shipping deadlines for gifts, although it's Christmas-oriented, in spite of the use of "Holiday" in the title. Although I suppose it's fine if you don't need your gifts by the first night of Chanukah).

The Amazon Kitchen Sale continues through tomorrow, and still has some amazing deals on appliances, bakeware, cutlery, and other fun stuff.

Amazon's also got a massive (as in, 1000+ items) sale of 50% off or more on sporting good items. I recommend sorting by brand or category here, but there are lots of good deals on Swiss Army Knives, Coleman burners, camping supplies, backpacks, skateboards, tennis rackets, and other stuff. There are some Swiss Army pocket knives for $3 there (with free shipping if you've got Prime).

Other deals: Still in sports, the Tech4o Airpod, for skiers to measure their hangtime, is down 42% to $69.99.

In video games, the Xbox version of Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance is going for $6.99 (65% off list about about 50% off what other retailers have it for).

In books, Rachel Ray's 2, 4, 6, 8: Great Meals for Couples or Crowds is going for $11.97 (40% off). Annoying giggle not included.

Annie Leibovitz's awesome A Photographer's Life: 1990-2005 is going for a still-hefty $45, but that's 40% off list.

The new Revised Edition of Freakanomics (now with 26% more Freak!) is $16.21 (42% off).

In music, you can pre-order Oh! Gravity (the latest from Switchfoot) for $9.99 (47% off).

And finally, the deal of the day is the Kensington Digital FM Radio Tuner and Transmitter for the iPod. It was already on sale (as I mentioned earlier), and is an even better deal now at $17.99 (85% off, $2 cheaper than it was this weekend).

Oh King of the Amazon.com, how do you generate those links of which you get a cut? I make links through the text link to any page option on the associates page and it gives me links (http://sterlingnorth.vox.com/library/post/a-good-time-to-buy-dvds.html) which appear to have half a dozen redirects, plus six-hundred redundant arguments which produces links long enough to actually choke web browsers. The bookmarklet they offer is no better. (http://affiliate-blog.amazon.com/2006/11/associate_tip_c.html) Your links are much shorter. Where do they hide the instructions for those shorter links?
