In germany, lawmakers are attempting to pass a bill that would jail folks (in the real world) for acts of violence committed in games.

One of the unfortunate side-effects of popularly-elected government is the blameless citizen. We cannot say that sometimes people are stupid or deficient or out of their gourd. This has symptomatically produced scapegoating efforts for gaming, music and television.

One of the perks of being a nation of whores is that no one's going to call you such to your face. I say this not only of Germany, but of the U.S. and the bulk of Europe as well.
