True story
Jun. 12th, 2013 01:24 pmSo, watching Monday's Voice, I kept thinking during the first Swon Brothers performance* how they're like a country version of Simon and Garfunkel or Hall and Oates, in the sense that one member felt like the star (Zach, in this case), while the other felt like the backing band.
So naturally, their second performance was a Loggins and Messina cover. :-)
Incidentally, between his ability to make the Scream Face, his Elmo impression, and his willingness to do things like dress as Shakira, Zach's also proving that an entertaining personality can help carry folks a long way (the fact that both Sasha and Amber bombed at least one song helped, of course). That said, as I commented to 'song last night, it really doesn't matter who the third finalist is; this is all about Michelle vs Danielle, and frankly, even that race shouldn't be close (Michelle is clearly the star being made here).
Of course, America has notoriously awful taste (see the winners of the first three seasons), and Blake seems to get more votes than other coaches, so I expect Danielle to win on those grounds. But assuming their performances next week mimic the last few, anyone but Michelle winning would be a crime.
*A cover of "Turn the Page" that was actually one of the better performances they've given, and proof that the artists are sometimes better at choosing material than their coaches,
