Monday grumbles and stuff

1. Shortly after my last post, our Intarwebs at home died, and they haven't been resurrected since.

2. Elayna is sick. :-( She had a cold yesterday, and was up most of the night.

3. The 70 bus was late this morning. Actually, the 70 bus was likely early, but this meant that I was stuck taking the next bus, which arrived way later. And the official weather description at the time (according to Weather Underground) was "ice pellets." Which is exactly how my toes felt.

4. The Jets still aren't in the Super Bowl.

A few good things:

1. For the first time ever, a black head coach will win the Super Bowl.

1A If it weren't for the fact that the "gimme" winners in the BCS and World Series lost, and the fact that the Colts as Super Bowl Favorites have a History, I'd say that that coach's name is Tony Dungy.

1B. The Patriots will not win the Super Bowl.

2. I watched a really good little horror movie last night. Review to follow later today.

3. We found a decent Chinese/Thai delivery place this weekend.

The 70 is regularly off schedule. Our place is on the Cambridge end of the outbound route (the stop is across from our condo building) and my roomate takes it in to watertown to chage buses to get to work (in Needham).

You need to give yourself ten extra minutes at least from the posted schedule in both directions if there is any traffic or any sign or bad weather.

It also randomly during the week in non-rush hour break down, as they shift the older less maintained buses onto the line then, especially in summer. I used to go to the dentist out in Waltham and took it for such, and 4 out of 5 trips the bus would break down between major connection points and we'd have to walk a half mile or so to the next stop.

*nod* I've heard tales of the breakdowns. Fortunately, when the bus is late during rush hour, there's another one in 25 minutes, max. Much better than Atlanta.
