Sidney Sheldon, R.I.P.

Sidney Sheldon has passed away. I was never a huge fan of his novels (although they were certainly readable enough, and much better fluff than, say, the works of Dan Brown), but the man accomplished a lot in many different professions, and I spent more than a few days of my youth watching reruns of his old TV shows.

I always found myself confusing Sidney Sheldon with Sydney Schanberg, Sam Waterson's character in The Killing Fields... Hart to Hart made so much more sense when I thought it was being told by a journalist from the Cambodian War.

Wow, something now feels missing in the world with Sydney Sheldon gone. I'm not so much a fan of his novels now, but when I was a teenager I loved his stuff.
