1. Happy Valentine's Day! Go massacre some Chicago Mobsters to celebrate!

2. I'm working from home. Actually, 2/3 of my office is (so far, based on the emails I've seen). And Elayna's school is closed. Let's hear it for snow! Except for the part where it melts and refreezes later today and becomes ice. That'll suck.

3. My ssh shell access from home is finally working, which means that I can do everything from home, instead of most things.

4. Although Elayna gets the "work from home" concept, middle cat Jack most definitely does not, and assumes that he should try to lie down on my fingers while I'm typing. This is teetering between "cute" and "annoying." Ditto his attempts to cuddle the laptop screen.

5. I'm really happy to hear that so many of you are fellow fans of The Frighteners.

After I read your review last night, I immediately went to Amazon to order the director's cut. (We have it on VHS, but I need to see the extra scenes!)

Today's my birthday, and it just arrived. Great timing on Amazon's part (especially since they had estimated on their site that I would get it by the 23^rd). My wife loves this movie, too; so I'll pop it in later this week when we can both enjoy it together. Thanks for the heads-up on the new release!

Ya know I think school never gets canceled on account of snow here. This is the first time it's snowed this whole season too. How bad is Boston compared to NYC I wonder now.

Also...I didn't comment on the review, but Frighteners rules. I just wish that DEAD ALIVE/BRAINDEAD would get the type of treatment Frighteners got on DVD. Of course Hevaenly Creatures and Meet The Feebles deserves them too.
I mean they sorta kinda pulled it off for BAD TASTE, but not really.

Double dip DVDS are tehsuck, but not if they go to the well.

I'm fine with a double dip like The Frighteners, although I also prefer one-shots. But if they're going to do it, I'd rather see bare-bones and massive special features, rather than incrementally-released editions (X-Men 1.5, etc). And I'd love special editions of his other movies on this level. I've still got my very bare-bones editions of his pre-Frighteners discs (and we've broken the brains of more than a few friends by forcing them to watch Feebles), but would gladly upgrade.

As far as snow goes, I think NYC has it worse than Boston, based on the articles I've read. Granted, we're outside the city; it's possible that Boston has it worse, or that they haven't cancelled schools (I get the impression things are worse the further west one goes).
