There's an Ennio Morricone Tribute Album?

Not that the man doesn't deserve all the attention (and money) he can get (and hooray for his upcoming honorary Oscar!), but he's about the last person I could have imagined receiving one.

I'm torn between wanting this (for the Morricone music, as well as the appearances by folks like Springsteen, Yo-Yo Ma, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, and Metallica), and being appalled by the presence of Celine Dion. I suspect I'll go the iTunes route here. I definitely want to hear Springsteen's take on "Once Upon a Time in the West."

There are also a few remix albums, but they're mostly mediocre.

Film Forum is currently doing a celebration of all his music in cinema. Last week I saw the Battle of Algiers and the music was fantastic. I'm currently deciding between watching The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Bamako

I have Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone and it's a fantastic CD. The Death Theme from The Untouchables was what made me check it out but the whole thing is brilliant.
