Friday stuff

yendi1. Only two days until I turn 35! I can finally run for President!
2. I'll be in meetings all morning (with brief breaks in between), and I've got a killer project that I need to work on this afternoon. So I'll be posting throughout the day, but likely behind on comments and reading LJ.
3. An Emory team won the National Debate Tourney! As an Emory alum and a former Barkley Forum member, I'm damned proud. And this team's also the first ever female pair to win.
4. Last night's 30 Rock (and yay for it being back, and double yay for it being renewed!) was the funniest yet. Will Arnett was inspired. As was the ten-second sitcom.
5. A new Burke novel this fall! It's going to be a good year.
6. Finally, it turns out that Hatfield-McCoy feud might have had a scientific basis.

And, hell, I'd vote for you! You're smart, competent, and entertaining... everything I'd want in a world leader. In fact, I think we need to start a movement to draft Yendi for President!

6. I worked with a real McCoy (pun intended), but it was actually his wife, not part of the clan, who was batshit crazy. He was terribly sweet, if a bit unreliable.
