Tuesday morning stuff/linkdump
Apr. 24th, 2007 10:11 amThis is actually take two as my system locked up when I was working on it.
1. FIrst, thanks to everyone for the kind words last night, and apologies for the pity party. The thing about the 261DoH project is that it's a personal challenge for me; I'm trying to see if I can keep up a writing pace like this over the course of the year. But I need to realize that it's okay to have some ebb and flow over time. Also, I need to remember that my stated goal is around 5K words a week; I've had weeks that have broken 20K.
2. The coolest thing I've seen today: A wallet made out of paper.
3. For folks in MA, CT, or RI: Cheap-ass compact fluorescent bulbs. Even with shipping and the six-bulb limit, these prices are about half what I'm paying around here.
4.
terracinque linked last week to the Polite Dissent blog. Aside from lots of good comics rambling, there's also weekly dissections of each week's House written by a real doctor. Highly recommended.
5. Heroes last night fucking rocked. We were too tired to watch Drive, alas, but it waits on our Tivo.
6. Yesterday was International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day. Most of the stuff is still available for free. More links are here.
7. Last night, the house got ludicrously hot on the top floor. Yes, fans will be bought. On the plus side, Tori (youngest and newest cat) got bored attacking our feet much more quickly than she does on cold nights.
8. There's a national text-messaging champion? And she's thirteen? Oy.
