Curt Schilling has apologized for his comments about Barry Bonds. To his credit, he comes across as damned sincere and contrite (and Schilling's level of public access is leagues beyond that of any other player; you not only get the impression he writes his own stuff, but there's never any sense that that anyone else has to approve the contents, as with the MLB.com blogs).

But he also makes the interesting comment that, "The only perfect human to walk the face of the earth died a few thousand years ago, that much I know."

Either he's praising the prophet Samuel*, or he's overestimating how long ago Jesus walked.

*Or possibly King Solomon. We'll assume that David and Saul were never in the running.

I think it would be funnier if he was praising a Assyrian god.

I think it's a bad overestimation. Curt Henning died only 4 years ago.

A few can be two. Give him a break.

I just did not think he needed to apologize.

It's a fact Bonds admitted doing steroids (I didn't know, he just called it the cream or the clear). He has written about the breakup with his wife, and he probably *has* cheated on his taxes.

I am still a huge supporter of Bonds, but I think people are giving Schill too much crap.

So long as he can pitch, he can say anything he wants.
