Hooray for free booze and gaming books
May. 31st, 2007 08:31 amLast night was a good night.
For reasons not completely known to me, I somehow got invited to a wine tasting at Vinalia sponsored by a tech company and a media company. For an hour and a half of presentation/roundtable discussions, I got two glasses of champagne and baked brie in philo dough with grapes, followed by the tasting, at which I had two nice reds while munching on cocktail shrimp, antipasto, mini crabcakes, beef and mushroom pockets, and assorted cheeses. As well as a desert tray.
Free booze and food always makes me happy. :-)
On the way home, a house less than a block away from us had placed a ton of books out for trash collection. Even though it was dark, I could see that there was a ton of old D&D stuff there, so I grabbed as many as I could carry, and then Shadesong and I went back for more. Some were too water damaged to be worthwhile, but we still found a ton of first and second edition rulebooks, as well as all five Basic Edition Box Sets (Beginner-Immortals), although the Beginner set is missing the dice and the Player's Guide. We also nabbed a bunch of the Second Edition class books (Thieves' Guide, VIkings, etc). There were also tons of medical books, so 'song now has even more Neurology books, as well as a copy of Merck's and other stuff.
So yeah. Free booze, free food, and free gaming and medical books. A good night.

Date: 2007-05-31 02:53 pm (UTC)Coming back to the Buffyverse with all the gaming I've done over the past 3 years is really fun, because I've got story and character ideas galore. :)
