May. 31st, 2007 10:27 am1. I'm way, way behind on comments (not helped by the fact that LJ is sending them late, as well -- not one of the four comments on my last post has made it to my mailbox). Work's busy enough that this will continue for a while, alas.
2. I'd forgotten to log in with my KOL multi for a while, and now he's gone! :-(
3. Ditto Elayna's KOL character. :-(
4. I'll be at this conference tomorrow! Yay!
5. How Scoble reads 600+ RSS feeds daily.
6. Early Starcraft 2 news. Just hearing that the ten-unit (or is it twelve?) limit for a group has been eliminated makes me happy. As will the return of Raynor and Zeratul. The new units sound interesting, but until seeing them in action (and in relation to the other units), it's too early to judge.
7. Amazon's videogame deal of the day is Singstar Pop Bundle with Microphone. I'm tempted, as it would allow Elayna to sing her Avril Lavigne, 'song to sing Blue October and A-Ha, and me to sing my favorite Clash and Franz Ferdinand songs. But I can sing those out of tune anyway, and the very presence of James Blunt on it makes it suck ginormously. Maybe if they drop the price to $10.
8. New Firefox security patch. Does nothing to fix the poor coding and memory leaks on the Mac version, alas.
9. More Marvel Action Figure fun. At least Emma Frost is supposed to basically dress like a ho. But I'm not sure how much sticky-tape was needed to keep her costume on here. In fairness to Marvel, the She-Hulk statue comes close to showing how a figure can be scantily clad without undercutting what she stands for. Except that, you know, she usually fights in a leotard (or in a lawyer's suit), not a nightie.
10. I remain very amused that one of the hot prospects for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays is named Evan Longoria. There'll be a ton of Desperate Housewives jokes when he crashes the bigs.

Date: 2007-05-31 03:05 pm (UTC)...but yeah, this whole thing with the underdressed and anatomically improbable action figures/statues/covers/general artwork, etc. is pissing me off. Do they never wonder why they don't have female readers, or do they just not care?

Date: 2007-05-31 07:31 pm (UTC)To be fair, those problems exist on all of the versions to some extent, although they do indeed appear to be more problematic on the Mac. (Sadly enough, Firefox on Windows doesn't cause nearly the amount of system slowdowns and/or random crashes that it does on the Mac.)
