1. Got to Level 11 in KOL! Finished the day at level two of the Tower, so there's a chance that the Naughty Sorceress will be dead tomorrow, and I'll have all six of my plexiglass items.

2. Amazon's VideoGame Deal of the Day is God of War 2 for $39.99. More expensive than typical DotDs, but still a solid 20% off what you'll find it for elsewhere. That said, is there anyone who was looking forward to this game who didn't get it the day it came out?

3. [livejournal.com profile] ktempest is participating in the Clarion West write-a-thon, writing to raise money for Clarion West scholarships. It's a good cause. Tempest is a good writer. Go support her.

4. [livejournal.com profile] slipjig mad a cat macro out of Jack (our middle cat) and the pile of D&D stuff that I mentioned finding last week.

5. And finally, although I suspect most of you have seen it, check out the full electromagnetic spectrum. I've always wanted to know just where the Death Star laster fell on this scale. :-)

On the spectrum thing, I don't get the potato reference. That comic usually outgeeks me by many orders of magnitude.

I could be wrong but I'm sure it either is a reference to a potato gun or the electrical waves discharged by a potato

How do you get passed the damn cube on level 1 of the sorceress tower? I'm tired of getting beat up by it...

Grim, frozen menace
Deploy an item to win
Threaten with canned heat

There once was a KOL player,
Who had to stop short on the stair.
Lo, a fierce cube of ice!
But then, in a trice,
He sprayed it as though it were hair

Hmmm... no one in my clan appears to follow this tradition....

But I did figure it out and am now on to the next challenge....

As I have yet to beat God of War, I do not have or want Part 2 just yet.

I'm up to the Door to Hades and the Big Beast that "protects" it. He's freaking hard!

I know the strategy and have no problem removing all the armor and getting him to his weakest, but the final death blows I keep failing.

Hey, congratulations on your oxycore successes. What will you do with all those crazy turns when your run is over?

Speaking of both KOL and writing, I'm sponsoring a writing contest over in the KOL contest forum, in case you or anyone you know is interested. The topic? The worst kiss of your character's life. (http://forums.kingdomofloathing.com/viewtopic.php?t=82045) Prize pool currently includes canned air, NPZR head, and tropical wrapping paper, with categories for both verse and prose.
