According to the latest Programming Insider:

Fox Nixed Plans to Air the Drive Series Finale:
It looks like fans of canceled drama Drive will be left hanging. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 4, the two episode conclusion was shifted to Friday, July 13. But the final episodes of Drive have been pulled from the schedule indefinitely and will be replaced with a repeat of Bones and another burn-off installment of Standoff. Various encore telecasts of movies are expected to fill Fox’s Friday line-up this summer.

May the exec behind this decision discover that his syphilis has mutated and requires a very special drug that costs him his billion-dollar bonus.

Someone at TWOP suggested that Fox should just change their logo to Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown. I found that quite apropos.

Small consolation, but at least they are putting the final two episodes online so folks can see them.

Oish. Further proof that Fox hates you and wants you to suffer.

I like the Lucy/Nelson imagery, but don't let the Fox execs hear about it. Simpsons good! All else bad! Yeeeeesh.

If they showed "Fuck you" for two hours, it would probably get better ratings than Drive did.

FOX lost a shitload of money on this show. They were projecting ratings that were three times what they actually got. CBS showed two sitcom reruns opposite Drive, and the sitcom reruns got better ratings on the night. This after FOX promoted it more heavily than any other show from the last year. The two weeks leading up to Drive, you couldn't get away from Nathan Fillion's pretty mug.

And the show tanked, after all that promotion. I don't blame FOX executives for being skittish.
