According to the latest Programming Insider:
Fox Nixed Plans to Air the Drive Series Finale:
It looks like fans of canceled drama Drive will be left hanging. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 4, the two episode conclusion was shifted to Friday, July 13. But the final episodes of Drive have been pulled from the schedule indefinitely and will be replaced with a repeat of Bones and another burn-off installment of Standoff. Various encore telecasts of movies are expected to fill Fox’s Friday line-up this summer.
May the exec behind this decision discover that his syphilis has mutated and requires a very special drug that costs him his billion-dollar bonus.

Date: 2007-07-11 01:33 am (UTC)FOX lost a shitload of money on this show. They were projecting ratings that were three times what they actually got. CBS showed two sitcom reruns opposite Drive, and the sitcom reruns got better ratings on the night. This after FOX promoted it more heavily than any other show from the last year. The two weeks leading up to Drive, you couldn't get away from Nathan Fillion's pretty mug.
And the show tanked, after all that promotion. I don't blame FOX executives for being skittish.
