So, last night most definitely involved beer. By the time my boss and I made it to Watch City, the rest of the folks had left. Which did not prevent us from having beer. Yay, Moody Street Stout.

No, no hangover this morning (I prefer not to get past the "buzzed" level any more nowadays, thank you very much). But I was asleep not much after getting home. Couldn't even stay awake to watch the Mets win.

And in fifteen minutes, we get the meeting to resolve the reason I was so in need of beer in the first place. Today will, nonetheless, be a better day than yesterday, because the alternative is unthinkable.

Anyway, elsewhere on teh intarwebs:

1. The Not-so-Great Gonzo: I may have created confusion. Ya think?

2. Word coined in The Simpsons makes in into scientific research! This perfectly cromulent link courtesy of emilytheslayer.

3. The House slowly crawls to the realization that blogging can be a form of journalism. The White House, naturally, disagrees (as do many morons from both political parties -- check out Democrat Adam Schiff's quote in the article)

4. Speaking of scum-sucking morons, how about the RIAA getting Archie to shill for them? Fortunately, Elayna's pretty much outgrown Archie, which is good, since they ain't getting any more of our money.

5. The fact that Disney bought Club Penguin is probably only interesting to folks following the tech sector, or parents of a twelve-year-old girl.

6. The best Dolly Parton cover ever is not (needless to say) Whitney Houston's cocaine-fueled warbling of "I Will Always Love You." It is, in fact, the cover of Hard Candy Christmas (a much better song to begin with) by The Monarch, 21, and 24.

7. I am shocked that The Closer got renewed. It's not like it's the best thing, commercially and qualitatively, TNT has ever had.

8. Norma Gabler is dead. Sorry, but I'm not going to mourn anyone responsible for doing their damnedest to sabotage science and education in this country. She and her husbands were villains, pure and simple. Successful ones, too.

9. Because you demanded it: Shrek 4 in 2010.

10. Finally, a useful rerun from Lifehacker: FIrefox keyboard shortcuts.

How does Watch City's "Moody Street Stout" compare with, say, Z Street's "Mocha Java Stout" or Ipswich's "Oatmeal Stout"?

Is it more of a milk stout, or "summer stout" (as the kids are saying nowadays)? Or is it chewy enough to get you thru the winter?

I thought you would appreciate that link, although credit must go where it is due, I ganked it from the BF, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. I don't read Scientific American until one of you links to it. :)

1. Funny how the truth is always consistent and, while occasionally does cause confusion, the only way to clarify is usually to repeat the truth.

2. neat.

3. Thank gods the courts have realized that blogging is journalism for a while now.

4. Right, because we all know those radio stations don't pay a dime for the music they play! We had the same issues with tape recorders and VCRs when they first came out, and I'm sad to age myself enough to admit I remember that. But only a little bit, I was a kid.

5. You're right, only interesting to those two groups.

6. Heh.

7. Don't care.

8. I heard that on NPR last night, and after finding out who she was, went "oh, thank god she's dead. Man, I'm horrible for being glad another human being is dead..."

9. Don't look at me!

10. On a laptop I technically don't have a mouse! Nyah! I use keyboard shortcuts most of the time anyway.

10. I plug a mouse into my laptop when I need one (because I hate touchpads and keyboard clits with the hate of a thousand hates) but I've always found keyboard shortcuts to be faster (once you learn them).

Archie's always been a tool. Remember the history of the Comics Code Authority.

Not to mention the Spire comics (http://generationexploitation.blogspot.com/2006/06/history-of-christian-archi_114951302719460209.html).

Acutally, Jugheads the tool. Archie's just the enabler.
