Aug. 6th, 2007 01:02 pmLong day in the universe. Meant to have this posted by 9ish.
1. The Company is surprisingly good.
2. Obligatory KOL update: I hit level 11 today (day 15). My HC Sauceror run is going much more slowly than my other ones, but that's partially because I'm planning on nabbing at least Gourdcore this time (and have spent plenty of turns working on that one), and I might go for the Million Meat Stack trophy as well.
3. Weekend movie: We caught Ratatouille, which was even better than I'd expected.
4. Had a lovely dinner on Saturday night at La Spina, a cute little restaurant in Davis Square. Appetizers included a nice bruschetta variant with goat cheese and a yummy mozzarella salald. For an entree, I had a wonderful casarecci with pancetta and sweet onions.
shadesong had a very good risotto, and
ian_gunn had veal saltimbocca. Ice cream at JP Licks followed (mmm, El Diablo).
5. Fox has bumped New Amsterdam from their fall schedule so that you could enjoy more Don't Forget the Lyrics. My Tivo is grateful for the extra space this fall. Me, not so much.
6. Go Tom Glavine!
7. The MFA found a new Van Gogh!
8. Poor Steve Spurrier. Someone forgot to tell him that universities are still, on paper, supposed to be about academics. It'd be a shame if he left South Carolina just because the school insists on only letting in academically qualified students. Next thing you know, they'll declare a ban on fixing test scores.
9. It's Brownback vs. Huckabee! Whoever loses, we all win.
10. Finally, there will be fewer drinks to choose from at Starbucks! Which is fine, you know, as long as one of the drinks that gets bumped isn't, you know, coffee.

Date: 2007-08-06 05:24 pm (UTC)Yes, I got that as a Pastamancer. You will have a 20-pound fairy familiar (of either of the six forms) plus boosts before you are done, and a large amount of asparagus (for that yummy tofu chow mein, eventually).
Do not forget to get one extra razor-sharp can lid for the NS's tower, like I did. Very embarrassing to have to go back and get one.
and I might go for the Million Meat Stack trophy as well.
I got that fighting a large number of Giants with my Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot. If you don't have one of those, I hear tell that the Cocoabo works just as well, albeit a little more slowly. Both of those are preferable to the Leprechaun, which may be counter-intuitive.
I'm finishing up my Accordion Thief oxycore run (and then will have just the Sauceror to go for plexiglass), but after this I'm going for the Scourge of Seals (Level 30 Seal Clubber). I'm just about to finish the Arena side-quest as a War Hippie, then it's Frat-bashing until the Frat-boss. Then NS gets hers, and I'm off.

Date: 2007-08-06 05:37 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've been there, done that before. Although with the larger number of possible adventures, I might well not get the giant finger anyway.

Yeah, once the Peak opened up the new adventure, the Lep became a little less helpful. My NZPR is still my favorite familiar, and I expect him to be a huge help.
