No, no. I think sentience is still a better guage. If it can open the fridge on its own -- don't eat it. Also? If your tomato sauce smells like ham and there's no ham in the fridge, it's probably not good. But that's just a personal rule.

My husband's ticked about that.. they've dropped the 17" iMac, and now the education discount on the iMac is $50. The mini's is $20.


At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of schools going Dell.

Are schools even suggesting desktops? Both former and current employer steer folks to laptops, and I assumed that was the case in general?

See though, I saw it a different way...

Tuesday before the event a 20" 2.16Ghz iMac with 2 gig memory and the 256 vid card upgrade and applecare was $1918. After the event a 20" 2.4Ghz iMac with 2 gig memory (vid card already 256meg) and applecare is $1818.

With my college's educational discount, I can get the same unit for $1653

I'm leaning really hard towards finally buying a new desktop to replace my 1ghz upgraded sawtooth. Just trying to justify it to myself right now.
