Mike Wieringo, R.I.P.
Aug. 13th, 2007 02:37 pmMike Wieringo -- aka "Ringo" -- has died of a heart attack.
I've been a huge Ringo fan ever since Tellos, and followed him on Waid's Fantastic Four and David's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
He was one of the most talented artists in the industry (which I realize sounds like I'm damning him with faint praise, but he'd be talented in any era), and by all accounts was also a wonderful person.

Date: 2007-08-14 03:45 am (UTC)a) he was only one year older than my mom was when she died of a heart attack.
b) I never got the nerve to say I liked his work the two times I went up to the Baltimore Comic-Con. I was sure I would have gotten the nerve this time around. Now it is too late to act like goofy bloody fan in front of him.
My condolences go out to his family.
