There's a sequel to Escape To Witch Mountain. Starring The Rock.

Of course, there already was a sequel (included in the same pack as the original), so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a remake of the sequel, a different sequel branching into an alternate timeline, a third movie, or what.

I suspect I just spent more time worrying about it than the producers did, anyway.

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] yendi. I expect more of you.

Doublecheck the title. Compare to the Amazon page if necessary.

That's pretty cool. I remember seeing Escape To Witch Mountain on TV during one of those Sunday night movie specials as a kid. A sequel could be good. Thanks for the heads up.

A standard bit of trivia. It's Escape to Witch Mountain, not Escape from Witch Mountain.

It's Escape To/Return From, not Escape From. *kiss*

It's worse than that, if you read the whole article (and, being Variety, it's not like it's a particularly long article).

"Johnson [...]stars next summer alongside Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway in “Get Smart” for Warner Bros."

Aaaaagh!

How many Hollywood remakes (since, say, 2000) can you think of that don't blow?

I loved those movies, and have sat Brittany down to watch them, who loved them. She ran around playing Tia and Tony for weeks afterwards.

I really wish Hollywood would leave my childhood alone, although I was surprisingly pleased by Transformers and TMNT. But the would would have survived just fine without them, you know?

Is the Rock going to be the little girl or the little boy in the movie?

Great. I'll need more brain bleach. Thank you.

No. Just...no. I've been happy not seeing The Rock in movies since Doom.

What's with The Rock and Vin Diesel starring in movies where they are overwhelmed by the concept of taking care of children (see The Pacifier, The Game Plan, etc.
