The upcoming movie adaptation of Love in the Time of Cholera has a Myspace profile, which makes just as much sense as marketing Jackass: The Movie with a "making of" special on IFC.

Of note: The book is female. And 27 year old. I bet she's getting all sorts of "friend" requests. She also wants to meet "fans of the novel and everyone who's gonna be there on November 16th." The "gonna" is a nice touch.

And (as if there was any doubt) she's a Capricorn.

And I thought turning the Hunchback of Notre Dame into a cheery Disney musical with pink singing gargoyles was the epitome of dumbing-down great literature...

Yep, civilization is doomed.

>>The book is female.<<

All books are female, while all magazines are male. ('Cause I like it that way.)

In other news pop culture continues to exponentially terrify me.

LOL after an entire day of Russian grammar classes, I didn't even blink at books being female. My brain went, "Of course they are."
