"I spent four months making this film and I still don't fully understand the humor."

I wonder if Chris Tucker might say the same or not...

Of course he'd say it like this if he did...

"I worked on this fishlackalaka for damniz forevers, that Brett Ratner is a crazy mofo, he don't know funny... but motherfucker, I get my paycheck I do whatever and then Jackie get me all that Asian pussy... yo...what up?"

I always figured he was just doing the Hollywood stuff for the money. It showed.

totally unrelated to your post...while flipping through a magazine at work today, I came across this

He's being remarkably honest.

I can sum it up rather easily. I enjoyed Rush Hour 3 at any time when:
  • they were not attempting to do any kind of humor, and
  • Chris Tucker was either not on screen or just standing in the background.
As a straightforward action film it might have worked with two plot tweaks (I could elaborate, but they're spoilery). As an action/comedy it was hopeless from the start because they cast Jackie Chan as the straight man and Chris Tucker is (in my opinion) not even slightly funny.
