Robert Goulet, star of any number of musicals (and namechecked in A Chorus Line), has passed away.
Even the most recent work of his that I can recall -- that Super Bowl commercial for Emerald nuts -- was wonderful.

Date: 2007-10-31 06:42 pm (UTC)I saw a local TV interview with Robert Goulet when I lived in Tampa in the early 90s -- he came through town playing Arthur in a touring version of Camelot. I didn't really know who he was at the time other than that he was Old and Uncool, and I was Hip and Young and In My Early Twenties and so shouldn't have given him any thought at all.
But after watching this local TV interview, I was a Goulet fan. He was charming and funny and self-effacing and talented and seemed like someone who'd be fantastic to spend time with. Nothing I'd seen from him in the last fifteen years did anything to change that opinion.
