I'm pretty sure Jerry Seinfeld is behind this, somehow. Every time I've seen something on TV recently that's been unfunny, annoying, and apoidean, it's been a promo for Bee Movie.
I was mentioning to a friend last night how they seem to be advertising the hell out of this movie, and I've yet to see anything that would actually make me want to go see it.
As conglomerates go, Clorox is still a fairly small one. It's not part of some "Beatrice Group", or other American attempt at a zaibatsu.
Sure, it has a market capitalization of 8.7 billion dollars, which is more than I have on me, but compare that to, say, Johnson & Johnson at 188 billion dollars, and it starts to look like a neighborhood factory.
But I agree it's not as bad as the Tom's of Maine takeover. Or the Rachel's Organics takeover. Or the questions over Abel and Cole going big. I read this article in the print version of the Guardian last week. http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,2198430,00.html
Of course, we buy our organic produce from a local organic farm and avoid Abel and Cole and all the big boys. :) We shop here, where we know the farmer. http://www.warbornefarm.co.uk/

I'm willing to forgive him for a lot after his turn on 30 Rock.
