1. 88 Lines About 44 Fangirls. By the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] slipjig.

2. For an older parody of the same song, here's 88 Lines About 42 Presidents, from the good folks at Brunching Shuttlecocks (a site I still miss).

3. For the KOL addicts who want yet another HTML-based game using similar mechanics, there's Twilight Heroes. I like what I've seen so far, but it's in serious beta, both in terms of content/balance and server stability.

4. Wallace Shawn joins The L Word! Inconceivable!

5. Joss Whedon on the strike. Evanier also has news (not optimistic stuff, either). Also, if you're wondering how many episodes of your favorite shows are in the can (and can thus air regardless of the state of the strike), check out this list.

6. David Wright won a Gold Glove! Woohoo! I expected folks to keep giving the award undeservedly to Scott Rolen, or possibly (and deservedly) to Ryan Zimmerman. But Wright, for all his errors, also showed a ton of range and made some amazing plays. I think his flash is what put him over the top.

7. Jesus Fucking Christ. They really are remaking High Noon. Maybe they can follow it up with a new Casablanca, and then complete the trilogy by giving us Will Smith in Citizen Kane.

8. *boggle* The FBI actually tried to use Falafel sales to track terrorists.

9. Either someone has replaced Philip Pullman with a pod person, or he's realized that he can make a lot more money if he pretends not to have stood for any of the things he's promoted over the last ten years.

10. Finally, Amazon's got some more DVD sales to go with the TV Stock-Up Sale from yesterday. There's a Season 1 sale with a bunch of good sets at $15.99 a pop (including Dead Like Me, Stargate Atlantis, and The Young Riders). And there's a sale on MTV DVDs that includes some good stuff (Daria, Beavis and Butthead) amidst the heaping piles of suck (The Hills, etc). On the movie side, there's the 100 DVDs under $10 sale (with stuff like Children of Men, Serenity, To Kill a Mockingbird, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Weird Science in the mix), and the Real Recent Sale, with 40-50% off a bunch of films (The Devil Wears Prada, The Illusionist, Borat, and the not-so-recent special edition of I Heart Huckabees).
