Today is "Cyber Monday," the holiday named because it's the time when everyone supposedly comes into work and wastes the AM doing their $Winterholiday shopping, even though they all probably have solid net access at home anyway.

There aren't nearly as many good deals today as there were on Black Friday, but Amazon's got a few:

First, there's a one-day-only DVD sale that features many of the same items that were in the Black Friday sale, at prices that aren't quite as good, but which are still pretty amazing overall. This includes 60+% off 300, Knocked Up, Blood Diamond, The Office, House, Smallville, From the Earth to the Moon, Gilmore Girls, Escape From New York, and more, 50+% off the Complete Monty Python, Labyrinth, Borat, and others, and tons of other movies at 40-67% off.

Second, the Deal of the Day is the Complete Buffy for $94.99 (53% off). Why they don't just list this in the other one-day sale is beyond me, but it's certainly worth highlighting.

There's also the ongoing Big DVD Sale, with a ton of cheap items, like The History of Violence for $5.99,

There's a Software Deals of the Week section that includes the Complete Mad Magazine, The Complete Incredible Hulk, The Complete Amazing Spider-Man, The Complete Invincible Iron Man, and The Complete National Lampoon for 34% off ($32.99) each, as well as other good deals. Be warned that all of those ship in PDF formats, not CBR.

Finally, there's a Music Sale that runs through tomorrow, with 50% off a lot of good stuff, including the previously-mentioned Emmylou Harris collection, the Traveling Wilburys set, a bunch of box sets from The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, and The Police, and recent albums like the Robert Plant/Alison Kraus collaboration, the new Springsteen and Fogerty discs, KT Tunstall, and High School Musical Two (also Josh Groban and Celene Dion, if you need to do holiday shopping for the in-laws). They also complement this with an MP3 sale, with MP3 albums that range from $5.99-$7.99, as well as a few free songs from Dashboard Confessional and Los Straitjackets.

On Black Friday "Carnivale" Season 1 was $19.95 and Season 2 was, I believe $24.95 (or more). Today they're each $19.95 and finally at a price where I might pick them up. (Wasn't that long ago that they were still about $60 per season, with a list price each of $98)

Then again, they're both "out of stock" and not expected to ship before Christmas.

I don't know if that means that there will be a repackaged all-in-one coming out soon, or if HBO's distribution chain is just bad. Guess I should inquire over at tvshowsondvd.com and see if they've heard anything.

I heard a rumor at LosCon that Borders was selling Hogfather DVDs. Have you heard anything like this, and if so, where?

I followed the suggestion of one of your respondents, and saw a piece on this on tvshowsondvd.com where they said that the DVD was released at Borders on 11/13; to be released elsewhere in March. However, I hang at Borders weekly, and never saw any such thing, so I have to wonder if that was mere rumor and not reality.

Well, it is indeed being sold at Borders for $16.99 for a three hour piece divided into two parts; it has, in addition, a Terry Pratchett inteview.

It's exquisite.

I loved it.

You must immediately drop whatever you are doing, run to Borders, and get a copy, right away.

Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

I'm not really kidding.

Fantasy Flight Games and Z-Man Games sales...
